Antena 1 is the first channel of the Intact Media group, launched in 1993, first as a regional channel received in Bucharest and in an area near the capital. This is a generalist-type chain. Antena 1 is currently the second most popular channel in Romania after Pro TV.

In 1993, Dan Voiculescu, founder of the Romanian Humanist Party invested in the first private television channel in Romania. The first contents of the channel mainly include movies and news. On November 10, 2010, the channel stops its broadcast in Moldova.
