IZ.RU (Izvestia - Известия) live online "Russian information TV channel. It is part of the "National Media Group"  and broadcasts the content of the multimedia information center  "Izvestia" around the clock.

On June 2, 2017, as part of the merger of the information services of two TV companies from the National Media Group (REN TV and Channel Five), the multimedia information center "Izvestia" became the supplier and producer of news for them. As a result, newscasts on the Fifth began to be published under the same name, and a running line appeared on REN TV IZ.RU.

On June 21, 2017, a TV channel with the name "Izvestia" began to appear in the list of registered media on the Roskomnadzor website. On July 10, 2017, Izvestia received a universal broadcasting license.

On August 18, 2017, IZ TV channel.RU has temporarily started broadcasting on Life78 frequencies in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. The TV version of the TV channel differs from the Internet version by the presence of advertising and a running line. At the same time, football and hockey matches are broadcast on the TV channel, on September 1, the broadcasting of the 78 TV channel began on these frequencies.

At the same time, IZ broadcasting.EN in the Petersburg broadcast was carried out at night on the frequency of the TV channel "78" in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region until the fall of 2021. Most of the channel's employees are former employees of Life78 and Channel Five. On August 19, 2017, broadcast of IZ.RU started in the regions on the frequencies of Life, which was closed.

On September 14, 2017, the channel began broadcasting on the Tricolor TV satellite platform. The potential audience was 11.6 million subscribers. The TV channel is part of the "Unified" package — Russians can watch it in MPEG-4 format and HD resolution. Izvestia brings the most important events in Russia and the world to the audience as quickly as possible. The production of the TV channel is handled by the Multimedia editorial office of the Izvestia News Center.

On September 18, it became available to subscribers of the Rostelecom analog network. The potential audience of the channel increased by 3.2 million subscribers. Muscovites can watch the TV channel on the 26th button (34 TVK) Rostelecom. The channel was also included in the package of interactive TV of the Rostelecom network — and became available throughout Russia. 19 million subscribers — this number was reached by the total potential audience of the TV channel, which is located on the 29th button in interactive TV packages.

By 2018, the channel's broadcasting began to reach an audience of more than 67 million people. The channel was included in the packages of the largest cable and satellite operators in the territory of the Russian Federation. Among them are Rostelecom, Tricolor, MTS, Beeline, ER—Telecom, Akado, MegaFon TV, and Orion-Express, and in the network of regional cable operators.

On November 21, 2017, Izvestia TV channel won a special prize in the "Discovery of the Year" nomination for the annual Russian Golden Ray Award, an annual national award among thematic TV channels broadcast by satellite, cable, and Internet operators in Russian on the territory of Russia or abroad.
