REN TV (РЕН ТВ), a Russian free-to-air television channel, was established by Irena Lesnevskaya, and her son Dmitry Lesnevsky on January 1, 1997. They had previously run REN TV as a production company for other Russian national television channels.
REN TV's network consists of 406 independent broadcasting companies from Russia and the CIS. REN TV's signal can be heard in 718 Russian cities and towns, from Kaliningrad in the West to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk East. It is estimated that it has an audience of 113.5 million viewers. REN TV is available in 181 cities, and it works with 10 broadcaster affiliates as well as 19 cable operators in the CIS or Baltic states.
