Sixx Live (Germany)

Sixx live is a German private free-to-air thematic television channel owned by the ProSiebenSat group.1 Media. Its programming is oriented to a female audience and began its broadcast on May 7, 2010.

In November 2009, ProSiebenSat.1 Media announced the launch of a new channel aimed at a female audience called Fem-TV, although, at the beginning of February 2010, the name was changed to Sixx inciting the viewer to place the channel at number 6 on the remote control. The channel started its broadcasts on May 7, 2010, and was initially used as a testing ground to test new advertising concepts.

Since August 1, 2011, it has been available on digital terrestrial television in Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg, Kiel, and Lübeck, and from June 2013 the coverage is extended to Munich and Nurenberg. In 2014 the region of North Rhine-Westphalia is reached and will subsequently be expanded.

Since the beginning, its programming has been based on the broadcast of both American and self-produced series aimed mainly at a female audience such as Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, or Damages.

As of December 1, 2010, Sixx is also available in high definition on satellite TV pay-TV platforms and on cable operators as a premium service. In July 2013 a new identity design was applied for the channel with a new slogan that says Das will ich auch o.
