News Corp Australia owns Sky News Australia, an Australian news and opinion provider. It was launched on February 19, 1996. It broadcasts news coverage in rolling news throughout the day. While its prime-time lineup is dedicated to opinion-based programs with a variety of conservative commentators, it airs at night.

Sky News Australia is available on Australian and New Zealand pays TV, while Sky News Regional, a free-to-air version of Sky News, features Sky News Australia and Fox Sports News programming. It is also distributed digitally terrestrially by Southern Cross Austereo, selected WIN Television stations, and distributed on terrestrial television via digital terrestrial television. Sky News Weather Channel and Sky News Extra, formerly A-PAC, are two other spin-offs of the channel.

The original channel was a joint venture of British broadcaster BSkyB (thus making the channel a spin-off from British Sky News channel), Seven Media Group, and Nine Entertainment Co. It is now known as Australian News Channel Pty Ltd. News Corp Australia acquired the company in 2016, with Murdoch's remaining shares in Sky UK sold to Comcast. Sky News Australia is not related to British Sky News.

Sky News Australia was under fire from the media for its increased emphasis on opinion programming since it was acquired by News Corp Australia. There have been comparisons to Rupert Murdoch’s American news channel Fox News, which has a similar format, as well as accusations that its opinion programming promoted right-wing misinformation, and conspiracy theories, and gave rise to far-right figures.
