New project from Adam Sandler and Netflix!

Sandler and Netflix are preparing a literary adaptation this time.

Adam Sandler will play the lead role in the new film, which Netflix will adapt from the Jaroslav Kalfar novel “The Spaceman of Bohemia,”and portray an astronaut. The story follows an astronaut who is sent across the galaxy to collect mysterious old dust when he finds his earthly life torn to pieces. It leads him to the only voice that can help him try to put his life back together: a creature lurking in the shadows of his ship, from the beginning of time.

Johan Renck, whose films include “Chernobyl,” “Last Panthers” and “Nancy,” is directing the film based on a script written by Colby Day. Renck said: "As we prepare for our journey to Chopra, I couldn't be happier to have found the perfect partner in Adam. And now, with the support of the excellent Netflix family, I am so excited to begin our impossible journey."

Producers include Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin, Peter Kiernan, Michael Parets, Tim Headington, Lia Buman, and Max Silva. Executive producers will be Ben Ormand, Renck and Barry Bernardi. There is no clear explanation yet for the film's other cast and premiere date, but it is expected to be released late next year.

Sandler and Netflix have partnered on half a dozen films so far. In January, the publisher announced it had extended its deal with Sandler and Happy Madison Productions for four more films. Sandler's" Murder Mystery " was said to be Netflix's most popular movie in the U.S. last year. “Murder Mystery,” starring Jennifer Aniston, was Sandler's sixth Netflix film, including “The Ridiculous 6,” “The Do-Over,” “Sandy Wexler,” “The Week of” and “Hubie Halloween.” In addition, Netflix bought the streaming rights to Uncut Gems, which was said to be Sandler's best performance, and put it on the air in many countries.
